IS THIS PROCEDURE SAFE?
Sculptra Buttock Augmentation involves a series of injections into your buttocks and hips using small needles. Only topical anesthetic is required to numb the surface of the skin to make it comfortable for you. No sedation, general anesthesia, or incisions/scarring are needed. Therefore, it is a very safe procedure.
WHAT IS SCULPTRA?
Sculptra is a injectable filler that is made up of poly-L-lactic acid particles. This material has been used safely for decades, and is the same substance used in very common absorbable surgical sutures (Vicryl).
WHEN DO RESULTS SHOW AND HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
Sculptra is mixed with sterile water before being injected. Once injected, there is an immediate treatment effect with expansion and improved roundness of your hips and buttocks from the volume provided by the injected water. The water disappears however, over 1-2 days, and sometimes it may appear as though nothing was done! There is no need to worry though since the injected Sculptra will now slowly stimulate your own body to produce collagen in your hips and buttocks. Sometimes it can take up to 6 weeks for this process to become more noticeable, but the end result is long-lasting volumization of your buttocks and hips, which lasts on average 2 years, sometimes more.
HOW MANY INJECTIONS OR VIALS OF SCULPTRA DO I NEED?
This will depend on your goals, expectations, and existing body shape. For smaller improvements, 1-2 vials per side can work, but for larger improvements, usually 5-10 vials per side may be needed, spread out over several treatment sessions.
